It's My Birthday - 4 Months Young!

It's my birthday!  Today I am four months old!  This week I have done a lot of growing up.  On Valentine's Day, during a visit to my Grandma Andy, I rolled over front to back while Dad was changing my diaper.  Mom missed the premier, so I repeated this two times on the exam table at the doctor's office the next day.   The doctor said I am right on track for a four month old and he described me as a very alert and bright guy!  I found lots of things to look at and smile at during my appointment.  Of course they measured my height and weight.  Seems like I am a long and lean baby but on the right growth trajectory.  I weighed in at 12 pounds 11 ounces and am 24.5 inches long.  I also got a couple of shots in my thighs during the checkup.  Sure, just after I roll over, they jab a needle in me.  Guess I will wait a while before I show that trick again.

This was also a really big week for me because I got to try rice cereal and peas!  Mmmmmm.....good stuff.  I am a very eager eater and am quick to thrust my open mouth right at that spoon and reach with my hand as it is coming toward me.  Mom and dad need to speed it up a bit - I'm hungry and I want food!  Some babies have to wait until closer to six months to try rice cereal, but I got started early because the doctor thought the hard stares and verbal fussing I had been doing while I watched mom and dad eating seemed to indicate I am ready for solids.  Once I have shown mom and dad I am willing to eat my vegetables, I get to try the sweet stuff - pears and apples.

Uncle Matt comes to visit this weekend!  I can't wait - I have not seen him since Thanksgiving and we have a lot of catching up to do.  Perhaps we will watch more of the winter olympics in Vancouver - go team USA.

See ya later, Alligators!
